A moving concert uniting ancient Armenian sounds and Berlin’s vibrant spirit, performed by Gagik Gasparyan on the duduk and Hamlet Ambarzumjan on the piano.

Berlin – September 14, 2025

On September, a remarkable Armenian concert took place in Berlin, uniting the soulful sound of the duduk with the expressive depth of the piano. The evening featured Gagik Gasparyan, a world renowned duduk player from Argentina, and Hamlet Ambarzumjan, an award-winning Berlin-based Armenian pianist, who together created a spiritual and deeply emotional experience.

AGBU Germany is proud to have been the only organization in Germany to organize and fully fund this concert. It was offered as a gift to both the Armenian and German communities, reflecting our belief that culture and art should be open to everyone. The concert was a noncommercial initiative, carried by our volunteers Araxya Danielyan and Raffi Enficiaud and made possible through the dedication of friends and partners, in particular, the Armenian Church community in Berlin.

The music, performed in a sacred setting at the Trinity Church in West-Berlin, transcended language and background. The duduk’s ancient tone blended with the piano’s modern resonance, creating a bridge between Armenia’s spiritual heritage and Berlin’s cultural openness.

Our warmest thanks go to Gagik Gasparyan and Hamlet Ambarzumjan and to our friends at Miasin NGO for their support and shared vision.

We are also extending our heartfelt gratitude to photographer Nicolai Froundjian who gifted us beautiful impressions from the concert.
