Reflecting on the 2024 Games in Barcelona
This year, the AGBU Germany delegation had the honor of participating in the Euro Armenian Games in Barcelona. Over 600 Armenians from 17 countries joined us, creating a sense of community and solidarity that was palpable after the long break due to COVID-19 and the Artsakh war. As our delegation leader, Maria Safarian, stated, “The Euro Armenian Games provide a unique platform to strengthen our bonds and celebrate our rich culture. I look forward to leading the next delegation to Bulgaria, a country with a vast Armenian history.” These games are a testament to our resilience, joy, and shared identity.
A Weekend Full of Highlights
For both athletes and fans, the 2024 Games in Barcelona offered unforgettable moments: exciting competitions by day, lively celebrations by night, and the unity felt during our traditional Kochari dance with 600 Armenians hand-in-hand. There was a surge of energy that filled every event, renewing our commitment to Armenian culture and our collective heritage. Attendees left not only inspired but also emboldened, carrying a strengthened sense of Armenian identity back to their diaspora communities.
